Dr. Mangione has been in private practice in Austin since 1987. He attended
the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa
and received his B.A. in Psychology with high honors in 1977. He attended
the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Medical School
and received his M.D. in 1981. He did his surgical internship and residency
at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He completed his Chief
General Surgical Residency in 1986. He completed his Colorectal Fellowship
in 1987 at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert
Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Mangione is board-certified by both the
American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and the American Board of
Surgery. While managing all aspects of colorectal diseases, he has
additional training in the medical management of inflammatory bowel disease,
surgical management of colorectal cancer and incontinence. During his time
away from practice, Dr. Mangione enjoys golf, UT sports, skiing, and
spending time with his family.
